If the Hyundai is the escape vehicle, he ditched it and rode off by some other means.

My analysis and profile:

The killer is a lone-wolf, but not an incel.

Well, let me qualify that.

He's a man who thinks of himself as a lady's man.

If he's a Gemini, he will generally be quite handsome too.

Probably athletic, a good talker, maybe even tall dark and handsome.

But he's past college age.

He likes to think of himself as still being the alpha dog, though.

Yet, he's 30 something.

But he doesn't want to be 30 something.

He's not a college frat boy.

College frat boys are still young, dumb, and happy.

But not this guy. He's not happy.

So, what does he do? He checks out the university scene in Moscow.

He's after the college babes.

And, narcissist that he is, he feels entitled to his share as an alpha.

But he's just a boring nobody like the rest of us working class jerks at 30 and 40.

The years weren't kind, reality hit him like a ton of bricks at 30, and he wants to sow his wild oats again.

So, he starts stalking.

He stalks online at first and then cases out his prey.

He knows in his heart he can't land one of these sorority girls.

And since he's a psychopath and narcissist at heart, he plots another means of domination and a sort of sublimation of sexual conquest.

He begins to think in practical acts of terror.

But the thrill soon fades and he needs more.

This obsession finally results in his act of murder.

He's a Ted Bundy type.

Ted Bundy was also in his 30s and saw himself as a lady's man when he killed those sorority girls.

This guy has a similar profile.

Whatever else may happen, he's going to make sure that all the attention of the fraternity and sorority demographic is directed toward him - the alpha wolf, or as the case may be, the coyote.

He's kind of a sharp looking guy.
He wants the ladies to admire his appearance.
He's not a shaggy bearded guy like myself who doesn't give two cents anymore.
He still wants to be the aftershave advertisement guy and look 'in style' and attractive.

But he's shady.
He'll stalk and not be seen, but his actions will most certainly be felt.

Praying that the families of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin may now have swift justice, consolation, and healing along with all of Moscow, Idaho.

If you kill someone, you are a murderer... but the individual who skinned a dog alive is not worth being called a human being.

That "being" is to me worth less than a compost heap in someone's garden - a heap of rotting plants debris.

Which means, they do not intend to investigate that trail...
