I guess it's like when you go play Street Fighter, or Tekken with your friend. I still do this about once a year in Ximen.

You beat hell out of them, and go away and laugh after. Your friend is still fine.

But this is different. There are real beings here trapped and suffering. What if your friend was trapped in the Street Fighter / Beast Busters cubicle, cos some pricks wouldn't let him out?

Then its not a game any more. It's a war.

You hit on a couple of major stumbling blocks of Our Time.

1) People who have a piece of the puzzle, but are convinced they have the whole picture. They are too proud to ask questions of anyone. This is pride, and it makes civilizations stumble, scrape, and fall. That stumbling process can take hundreds of years, and consume billions of lives in pointless sadness. I think we need to STUDY the civilization cycle, and work out how to change course. Dune would be a good start.

2) How do manipulators work with builders? The builder builds something useful, and the ruthless narc goes and does PR. You can work just fine doing that. The issue is, the narc often has the money, and tries to control/patronize the builder, instead of listening to them. Engineers are often quiet types who can get walked-all-over... I've worked with many.

The solution to dealing with rich piranhas? No discussion. No back and forth. You simply live cheaply, and stand your ground, until someone with humility, flexibility, and money approaches.

That process may take many years.

Other solution? Build new things which are obviously beautiful and useful. Have a scaling strategy that does NOT require a lot of cash, so some jerk can't get you under their thumb.

Running an open source project on github costs ZERO money, just tons of brains, sweat and chair-time. Staying as an open source maintainer is one way to keep your freedom.

There are tons of backyard innovators who have done well. TKOR The King of Random, is probably an example of the most successful.

why right now?

There doesn't need to be a clash if we just walk the f**k away, until they meet our very reasonable and fair standards.

1) Cash on the barrelhead.

2) Freedom. No copyright. Open source. So if you slave away, even paid, on some jerk's idea... if it's open source, if he starts d**king you about, you can just respectfully walk away, and take ALL your code/designs. Unfortunately only about 5% of the population aare currently working on those terms. Such is EArth.

3) Freelance, paid hourly, no salary. One hour's work, for one hour's pay. So some jerk doesn't get to pay you a monthly salary, and wring 60 hours a week out of you, cos it's lol "Crunch time".

You work 25 hours a week, or whatever... and get paid for those 25.

Cos information on covert narcs has reached critical mass in the mainstream vlogosphere.

In practice, that means "not talking to the local jerk any more", and "not dealing with your douchey, manipulative supe, or annoying relative"

Tiny, localized stories... but they are happening all over the place now, all over EArth.

Grey Rock and an Iron Wall of Smiles is the way forward.

He also started a crowdfunding site way back, 2013 or something... which, again, is a real white hat move. But he was told to take it down, I think.

So he's trying to get out of his agreements, like most people in the networks.

Instead of it coming to a dramatic head... a ton of people shrug and walk away.

Then they have to find new sources. That is NOT as easy as it sounds, nowadays, especially as their methodologies are well documented online.
