This measure now moves to the Ohio House of Representatives. We will send out an update as soon as it is assigned to a House Committee and when Committee hearings are scheduled. It will be QUICK because time in this session is running out.

In the meantime IMMEDIATE ACTION: It would be very helpful to contact your own State Representative. It is a quick call to ask for a NO vote when this comes to the House floor. As proponents are marketing this bill as the only way to fix our educational system, it is not. Sub SB 178 REMOVES elected representation for ALL students and parents in Ohio. This is especially a problem for home educated students and religious 08 non chartered schools.

There are House Republicans who will vote NO. Be encouraged that your calls and emails WILL make a difference. Four years ago this same legislation from the same proponents could not get enough support in the House. This is a busy time of year but this issue is critically important. Please consider making contact with your member and take an extra step to share this message with friends and family.

It puts all Education law under the control of one unelected political appointee.

Each time we would have a new administration we would potentially have vastly different laws that must be followed and would have no recourse since that education director would not be accountable to anyone but the state governor. Got a governor who appreciates parental rights and local control? It would likely be ok.

Got a governor or administration that either doesn’t understand home education or has a bias against it? We could have required home visits, superintendent approval, or required teacher certification or any of the other abuses and harassment we see (increasing) each year with the stroke of a pen written as law that must be followed.

If it passes we go back to 1989. Go back to hiding our kids in basements and having escape routes from our backyards. Parents going to jail for keeping their children home, including nursing mothers locked up away from their children and dying of mastitis infection because their newborns can’t nurse. It all happened in our lifetime.

, I’m absolutely ready to do whatever it takes to keep our rights so that my kids have the same ability to home educate that those who went through that in the 80s did for me. It’s in their honor that I have devoted so many thousands of hours a year for the last decade to this group. But I’m also going to do what I can to not let them walk right in and take away my rights this week in exchange for some nice lining of Reineke’s pockets.

I'm so glad my kids are almost finished. They have one and two more years after this year. If they try to pull any crap I'll just go ahead and graduate my kids. I feel like Ohio is always trying to pull something over on us. Remember when they introduced that thing that would require yearly cps visits because there was one family who killed their son?

I strongly oppose SB 178, just as I publicly opposed Sen. Reineke’s attempted takeover of all education in Ohio the last time he was financially incentivized to do so in 2018 with HB 512. This legislation will put our education laws- for public, private, and home education, under an unelected, unaccountable bureaucrat who is politically in the pocket of the current governor.

Homeschooling and this...

Ole Lippshits has been caught in text exchange by FOIA request purposely withholding the vote to prevent medical tyranny on everyone.

Representative Lipps and Speaker Cupp sheltered the Health Committee members from having to go on record for a vote in favor of or against HB 248, solely for the purpose of protecting their relationships with the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and their lobbyist donors just to protect their own political careers!

Shawn Stevens is the only one on the Health Committee to sign the HB 248 discharge petition. NO ONE else would go on RECORD for Medical Freedom! HB 248 will officially DIE on Dec. 31st. Don’t let Rep. Lipps and his Health Committee Republican buddies get away with playing smoke and mirror games with your personal liberties, for the last two years, so they could keep their seats in the 2022 election!

Chairman Lippshit needs called and told to:

“Hold Republican Health Committee members accountable to the individuals and families who lost their freedoms and livelihoods during the last two years of IN-action. It’s time for all of you to GO ON RECORD either for or against HB 248!
No more Lipp Service!

Lots of grief on the way if the establishment gets it way with these two issues! No doubt deswine is rubbing his hands greedily after what he did in 2020.

NO MORE TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!

It’s being spearheaded by Reineke, who is not a true conservative, and he has his hands in several organizations’ pockets which drives his agenda.

Always follow the money trail if you don’t understand how x-group seems to be voting against something you would normally think they would oppose.

Ohio is going into full Stalinism.

That POS Governor forced that rat poison vaxxxxxxx shit on all the hospital staff a while back, and most of them ran for their lives out of the hospitals as a direct result.

Then the POS forced the Ohio National Guard into the damn hospitals to run them since there were hardly any original staff left since most didn’t want to be poisoned to death.

…..And now these same psychopaths “in charge” of Ohio are basically trying to remove homeschooling as an option for parents.

WTF, Ohio?

Until they break out barrels of boiling tar and boxes of chicken feathers, they are doomed to more leftoid stupidity.
