March: Sanctions imposed and OB (German owned) network of stores sold to Russian entrepreneur Josef Liokumovich (possibly/likely a cutout? but you paint that thought with the ideological paintbrush of your choice)

April/May: The NEW Liokumovich owned malls resume operations

FAST FORWARD SIX MONTHS WHILE WAR GRINDS ON with Sanctions still in place and beefed up in the interim...

PURE CONJECTURE: Business can't be good under these conditions - at best mediocre due to sanction based supply chain issues and cut off from world finance markets... Again PURE CONJECTURE but definitely POSSIBLE and, even more, likely PROBABLE so... ASSUME OB was struggling to some degree AND there is no obvious end in sight to the war based sanctions as the war continues what appears to be a stalemated grind toward eventual exhaustion of one side's resources/political will...

Exact opposite. If Russia would take a US approach like Iraq and Afghanistan they would have flattened Ukraine. But they didn't because they are trying to avoid civilian casualties. Ukrainians, whose grandparents collaborated with the Nazis, on the other hand, have no problem killing civilians.
