Are animals capable of evil?
Why or why not?

I don't think so because animals aren't aware enough to know the difference between good and evil.

This is a critical question because I'm starting to think humans who choose to do evil are the least evolved beings. Perhaps it's better to be an animal than a human being in such a case.

Good and evil are delusions.
Humans have a mental illness, a contagious virus that we can call the knowledge of good and evil.
It is contagious and spreads like any other computer virus through communications, and is composed entirely of data or information.
No two people see good and evil the same, but all are under the delusion it is a fixed set of values.
This means that the notion of good and evil is a delusion.
If you look at the worst atrocities in history they were perpetrated in the name of good and abolishing evil.
It is the force that drives people to war, hate and is what prevents world peace.
Animals do not communicate the way humans do, and are not infected by the virus.
This does not mean that good and evil do not exist, it only means that humans are incapable of actually identifying good and evil, but the delusion makes them think they can.

Humans are actually the lowest evolved, they just consider themselves superior. SO superior we are destroying the world from total ignorance and inventions we were too stupid to look at the end results from.
All to think we are better than other animals, infact we are the worst.

And NO evolved soul thinks themselves superior... for that shows very low mindset.

A "guity" dog doesn't mean the dog plotted to ruin your life, stab you in the back and cheat on you with another master while you were at work, doofus!!

A guilty dog is REACTING to the tone of voice of the one reproaching him and making the association with whatever he did, because the master points it out. Then he gets it. Then he feels bad.

He still isn't evil. He didn't go "OK, I'mm ruin her purple and blue Manolos because nobody should wear such ugly colors she didn't buy me my favorite treats!!"

That's only true if we're no better than other animals and not spirits in a material world. I believe we're spirits in a material world and consequently have a much higher standard to live up to.

No. They act on instinct. They don’t have consciences. That’s what differentiates (most) humans from animals.

Re: Are animals capable of evil?
Have you ever seen a cat fuck with a mouse before? They torture them and they seem to enjoy doing so.

Animal do know the difference between good and bad. And some are really good at judging that too. You'll know how they see you by their behavior around you.

I live in a forest. I've domesticated many cats while living here in just the last couple years. And I've noticed this becomes easier as the other feral cats can see my interactions with the ones I've domesticated so far. And this affects other animals now too. The deer that come to eat the crabapples on the many trees here no longer run off into the forest when I go outside. They even come here to hide from hunters during deer hunting season.

I have a thermal imaging camera/scope that's allowed me to see a lot of wildlife that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed nearby observing me. They watch me interacting with these cats I've domesticated and it has changed their opinion of me. They are no longer so fearful of me. I've got one very large handsome muscular dominating alpha male cat here that took only 2 months to domesticate. One day he decided he could fully trust me and he came over to head butt me and rub his head all around my ankles. We've been beat buddies ever since that moment. Then a few weeks ago he decided he wanted to live inside with me and dashed into the house when I opened the door and doesn't want to go back outside now. Part of that I suppose though is because the weather is getting colder now. He came in just before we had a foot of snowfall. These cats can't maneuver easily in deep snow. That's the dangerous time of year for them. There's hundreds of coyotes and wolves around here too. He seems to really love it inside here now. He can even sleep now without keeping one eye and ear alert to approaching danger. He's a really big boy, as large as some of the raccoons around here. He's very well behaved inside. He immediately knew what the litter box is for. He stands by my side and follows me around all the time.

Anyhow, it's not always an advantage to have the animals see you as someone they can trust. The damn possum seem to have no fear of me now and I don't like them around here. And I can't get them to stay away. There's even a bear hanging out nearby. I've found his poop here and there. Saw his tracks in the snow walking up my driveway a couple days ago.

Animals watch us a lot. You won't see them doing so, but they are.

No.

They are creatures of instinct, and follow their genetic programming.

I don't believe animals were gifted with free-will, so I cannot see how they would make a conscious choice to be evil.

Re: Are animals capable of evil?
animals eat other animals alive and don't have the slightest guilt over doing so, animals routinely eat their own children and other animals children and kill other animals for no other reason as opportunity and territory.. but NO animals cannot be evil this is just how nature works.. the idea that humans somehow can be this concpet of "evil" is an illusion. what seems like a terrible evil person to us is just a regualr day for most Carivores. Evil is a construct made up by society... but that doesn't mean when should let others in our society get away with these same things
