Wrap the blanket around you and the warm breath from regular breathing acts like a heater to keep you warm. I have tried this for lengthy amounts of time in sub-zero temperatures several times now, even taking long naps feeling nice and warm the entire time. After only a few minutes your breath warms up the inside of your blanket. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85008589 I have tried this for lengthy amounts of time in sub-zero temperatures several times now, even taking long naps feeling nice and warm the entire time. After only a few minutes your breath warms up the inside of your blanket. Also, I always performed this in a car which was totally cold and has not been started for many hours. So it was not already warm in the car, and was the same temp as a car would be sitting outside in sub-zero temps for many hours. |

Even just hand warmers. Basic carbon monoxide lesson. And a flimsy Mylar blanket. You could keep it all in your center console. |

Hand warmers inside your bag will increase your rating by a fuck ton. Drop one by your feet and one on your chest. I have wool blanket and 0 degree bag plus 2 boxes of 10hr hand warmers. That's all you need. I also have sun shades for ground pad if needed and inflatable winter pad. Food. Thermals. Socks gloves hats. Boots. How could people travel without basic winter shit |

Had AWD, ass heaters on full, fog lights and defrosters blasting away. Got to test out the skid control, ABS, AWD and traction control systems. Anonymous Coward User ID: 81942808 12/27/2022 04:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How I did it in The Great Blizzard of '78. I monitored the weather days ahead of the storm and prepared my car with blankets, food, and water. I had a 20-mile commute to work. The blizzard was forecast to hit on a workday. On the day of the blizzard, drove into work and was forced by the boss to leave late at 6 PM. The blizzard had already hit my area at 4:00 PM...and after driving just 5-miles, I hit a snow drift and it stopped my car cold. Turned off the engine. Layered up my clothing. Had dinner in the back seat. Peed and pooped in a bucket lined with a plastic bag. Wrapped myself up and went to sleep. Next day around 2 PM, rescuers came and helped me get out of the 8-feet of snow; but I could have survived in that situation for many more days. Only idiots die in situations like that. |
