Bigfoot is not a myth -- not a LARP
7 years, 2 months, 1 week and a few days ago along the Klamath River on the Yurok reservation in the middle of the night...

That week, there were 2 sightings and 2 hearings and 4 witnesses...

They only come out at night after everyone has gone to sleep...

One camper at the edge of the clearing right next to where the forest starts and a very short walk to the river...

A picnic table littered with leftovers from an old Indian grandma who had cooked up spaghetti the night before for her grandson in a red, ceramic coated cast iron dutch oven we donated to her.

Her helper, an old army green beret with a beard like Santa Claus, PTSD, living in a tent outside her camper, an old white guy, someone who tried to get his hands on some pot to put the past behind him and the trauma from Vietname, having been given orders to take out his old buddy who had gone over the edge and lost his mind...

Somewhere probably past midnight and before 2 AM or so...

A bigfoot appears from the forest and begins going through the items on the picnic table. The shadow of the beast, perhaps by moonlight hitting the tent. The old green beret froze like you do when you know your life might depend on it, or at least your body knows that and won't let you make a peep for fear of your life.

Then, training kicked in and he allowed himself to unfreeze and very slowly unzipped the tent so as not to make a sound and cautiously looked outside; the sound of the eating and the pots masking his mouselike peeking around to witness the very large, very hairy "the Boss of the Forest" as the natives referred to him (translated).

They locked eyes and he got his one good look perhaps for all time. Perhaps 7 feet tall or more and with the face of a man, but orange eyes like a wolf, nocturnal, with night vision, but feasting on carbs (spaghetti in tomato sauce in this case -- not a meat eating predator like the human) -- a distant cousin of sorts with a different kind of digestion acclimated for foraging in the forest for plants and berries...

The code of the Bigfoot, Sasquatch some call him; never to be spotted by man or risk bringing down man's destructive and predatory impulse to hunt, they are sworn the Natives say to never bring man to find them, to keep their existence a secret from us -- the white man, at least; they do not fear the natives who even tell stories of having openly traded goods with "the Boss of the Forest" before the white man arrived...With one simple step, the creature leaped up from down by the table to up in the forest upon a rock some 10 feet away and with the second step disappeared into the forest completely, perhaps only taking a second or two to accomplish what nobody in the NBA could do on a basketball court -- just rise, rise, pivot and launch away into nowhere.

That was the first sighting. And the story was worth the medicine we imparted to the penniless old man for his troubles the following day...

Same place as before, different night.

It returned to eat from the picnic table in the middle of the night and the old woman stepped out of her camper and with her limp on her cane, cancer a thing she had dealt with and her old wide hips waddling down the steps to see what all the clatter was, there it was, eating the scraps; it noticed her but seemed unconcerned, an old woman and a native at that, the bigfoot saw her as part of the natural environment and paid little to no mind, enjoying the food as he liked. Second sighting, same week, confirmed second witness.

As the sun was setting, more than one Bigfoot in the forest, on opposite sides of the clearing, calling out to one another from afar, using animal sounds (birdsound to be specific) from one thicket too tight for humans to enter and over several hundred feet to another in a separate part of the forest down river from him/her.

A rolling "R" like a pigeon cooing only loud like a man trying to whistle from afar to get your attention while trying to sound like not a man...

First one from one side of the clearing in the forest.

Then, like a game of marco polo, from the other side of the clearing, in the forest calling back to him/her, taking turns back and forth for a minute perhaps uninterrupted...

This I was awake to hear myself as I was directly in the clearing between the sounds coming from one side and then the other.

The native people say he eats people.
And that they are cannibals.

4th and final hearing

Earlier that day, we took a walk along the street that leads to the river down river a ways.

When we got there, a drunk young, homeless Indian woman who lived in make shift structures and tents right along the river near the loading dock for fishing boats was losing her mind at any who happened near her drunken rants.

Ruining the walk for us, we quickly turned around rather than suffer the yelling and hollering from the drunk Indian hurling random insults at innocent passers by who were too close to her territory, in her own mind...

We scuddled off and returned to whence we came but not without a feeling that something should be done about the rude and drunk Indian woman scolding passers by without discretion...

I headed back there alone later and found she was gone, her camp left unattended and that's when I found the blackberry hooch she had been losing her mind too. I undid the top of the giant mason like jar and poured it out in the grass; a befitting punishment for a drunk who took her troubles out on those looking for no trouble at all. I returned from whence I came, having taken my meager revenge.

Later that night...

A bigfoot having smelled out the hooch in the grass no doubt and being blackberry eaters no doubt -- partook in the free pile of fermented berries it found in the grass after everyone had passed out for the night.

Then, drunk as a skunk, the bigfoot, having forgotten its code of silence and stealth, headed up river, this time not so much like a ninja, but rather with force and vigor; for this was a drunken bigfoot, high on hooch and however potent, a beast with strength tenfold a humans -- it was knocking over entire trees along the river bank as it came towards our clearing, about a block up river.

The sounds were amazing; trees snapping and cracking with ease as it made its way up the river bank, tearing a new path as it went along its way; anyone who happened to be outside or awake at the time could have heard it; my wife heard it all -- light sleeper with an ear pointed in the right direction. 4th witness by ear.

After that, we were believers, if we weren't already...I heard stories growing up, but they were all very second hand, like folk tales told around a campfire in the mountains of tales told for generations passed down from firemen fighting fires in the forest...

We went on the internet and found an old video with audio taken decades prior including the exact sounds like what we heard when they call out to each other with a bird like call...and the recorded date, though several decades old, matched to the day, just years earlier, sometime in October in the very same area we had been in...

They perhaps follow a route throughout the year and end up in the same places at the same times like a loop, nomadic perhaps...

More tales..from the rangers in the area...

Years later, we returned to the area for a spell, different time of year, earlier.

We shared stories with local and Indian folk who live there and received their stories as well.

Some of them work with the forest service or fire, clearing trees for fires and that sort of thing.

They called them nests I think and they would happen upon them sometimes and then quickly decide to move on and clear out for fear of running into one.

The beast would take trees and bend them over to make an arc and do that several times until having constructed a sort of yurt of living trees bent into arced rafters.

They would lay down foliage within it and make a bed for themselves beneath the covering they would construct out of bent trees, so as to make it dark where they could sleep during the daytime.

Sometimes, high up in the mountains where humans would not even have roads to get there.

They live where we do not go, for the most part and that is why they are so elusive to us. We lack the physical vigor to go where they do and so they coexist where we can not and remain like a myth with folks believing nothing like that could really be true ... but the skeletons we find of early huge cousins of man, built stronger and larger than us are not our ancestors -- they are the ancestors of them.

We are their much smaller and distant "cousin" if you will, but not evolved directly from them through evolution, if you will...our genetics are spun off quite a ways from theirs.

We don't have the hair, the strength, the stature, the foot structure to carry the weight and our diet is different.

The theory is that some higher functioning humanoid types from the distant past, skilled in genetic engineering; were able to take some relative of this being from the past -- considered more intelligent than any other land creature and more able bodied and then crossed their genetics with other creatures to make them domesticatable but intelligent and less of a physical threat; we took our skin, our eyes and our digestion from a relative of the pig and our ability to tinker with technology and language or speaking from either our "creators" and/or perhaps even some of our speaking ability from the genetics in talking birds. I don't know, but there are different versions of these tales from different times.

Of course, the original forms of all of the species drawn upon to create us may have evolved over time without interference from tinkerers, but there have been tinkerers along the way; for one thing -- evidence exists in that we have one chromosome abnormally longer than all the other; somehow spliced it -- something you just don't ever see with any other species on the planet; and of course, no other species on the planet converts the planet in such a way as to make our species more comfortable since our bodies seem unadapted completely to any specific natural environment; our brains and hands giving us the ability to modify our environment much more than any other species. So much so that we actually harm our environment in order to bend it to our comfort level; certainly a trait that didn't evolve with the environment, but the result of tinkering with our genetics and making our own tinkering with our environment necessary to compensate for our own ability to survive.

Re: Bigfoot is not a myth -- not a LARP
No, they are not meat eaters or they would be eating us...but they are territorial.

When high up in the mountains, those that worked with fire clearing said that when they got close enough to find a "nest" as it were, they were greeted with large rocks being propelled from out of the trees and landing close enough and with enough force to let them know to leave the area.

Nobody was hurt and that was no doubt intentional. The bigfoot does not wish to bring harm back down on his people and will not harm us, but will issue warnings that will be taken seriously if you venture too far into where he is vulnerable. Other than that, their code restricts them as they will be ostracized by their own clan if they break their own code. The young ones are taught to keep their existence a secret from man; they are very, very aware of how dangerous we are if they make an enemy out of us.

Insofar as other stories go, there is a tale from over a hundred years ago, maybe more from somewhere in Mongolia.

A female bigfoot, still quite large compared to us, but not as large perhaps as the males, was captured by natives in that area and placed in a large pit created to house it and attempt to domesticate it over years.

They used it for labor, using whatever means to control it, perhaps chains or ropes, who knows; this might have been before 1900; not sure of the date anymore. Anyhow, this was an indigenous and living off the land type of tribe of humans living in the forest themselves and they also used the female bigfoot as a sex slave or at least had their way with it on one occasion; who knows the details or can be sure, but it resulted in an actual birth, looking human enough but rough, I mean no Brad Pitt, that's for sure; think Geico commercial and the neanderthal -- someone that ended up working literally for the circus as like a circus freak for their looks.

This hybrid was the proof as the original bigfoot eventually died and is not recovered, but people were witness to the human like child who ended up living out its life as part of the circus of the day.

Re: Bigfoot is not a myth -- not a LARP
the circus was in Russia somewhere...that's how the story made its way out of Mongolia...

The bigfoot is a myth because nobody can find proof.

There was a time when the Panda bear was also myth and nobody could actually find one.

Eventually, the panda was found, but they are not as adept at avoiding humans. The bigfoot is smart enough and agile enough to avoid us.

They say it is psychic and communicates with its own kind more telepathically and that is the way of most animals in the wild as speech is something that doesn't exist in many animals.

Our first language or zero language is telepathic even for humans but the language we build on top of that is our native language, English or whatever else depending on where you grow up. Animals only have the zero language of pure telepathy. Call it vibrations that come off the skull, but they are projected like a satellite dish and picked up on by others.

An interesting branch off to this is the study of sound and how it makes water droplets into different shapes and patterns, like snowflakes or mandalas. Each pattern being interpreted like a different character or feeling, symbol or meaning of some kind. We are all mostly water in our bodies and we all feel the emotion that we pick up on in the water molecules in our bodies.
