United States 01/02/2023 10:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Human Composting" Now Legal In NY State: Another Baby Step Closer To "SOYLENT GREEN" First we had "Aquamation" -where human bodies are pressure-cooked into liquid fertilizer- and now we have "Terramation" that turns them into mulch. And of course, both stimulate the growth of plant-based foods we eat. That's why it's one step closer to SOYLENT GREEN, which is actually behind schedule since that classic film takes places in 2022. [ link to returnhome.com (secure)] Just 48 hours ago NY Governor Kathy Hochul made the Terramation process legal to perform in her state making New York the sixth to allow the process since 2019 as it joins Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Vermont and California. Do more than expected, take less than allowed. When dealing with a friend, if you aren't getting the short end, you're doing it wrong. Any good Muslim joke starts with a glance over the shoulder. Human meat and organs used for food is abhorrent to me but I have no problem after my death being used as a growth medium for anything that can benefit from my dead body i.e animals, insects, microbes and plants. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82738869 And that's the basis for "green" burials where no extra processing is needed: a simple Cotton shroud and a hole are all that's typically used. Nature already KNOWS what to do with your body after death and needs no high-tech stainless steel vats to accomplish what maggots and flies will do in a few weeks IF they are allowed to complete the eternal cycle of life. Remember: going all the way back to the ancients, funerals have always had religious connotations which is why the various practices have survived until today. Quoting: 5lats Actually, since Soylent Green was a product of oceanic algaes, the current plant-based non-meats come closer to the overall concept than do insects. But your point is well-taken! |
