Came home and a bird (sparrow) was in my house

My dad passed away last Thursday night. I got the call at 11:30 at night. He was in the hospital and had been for the last 6 weeks. We went the next day and gathered with our family to make the funeral arrangements and just be together. That night my husband, daughter and myself went home and my husband walked in our bedroom and yelled out “what is that?” . I walked into the doorway of our room and a sparrow was flying around in there! There were no open windows and we don’t have a chimney. We have lived in this house for 17 years and we have never had a bird in our house. My husband threw a shirt on it and took it out.

My question is what kind of meaning could there be for this? Was it his a sign?
