Been trying to research info on this for the past few hours. Looks like Katu link has updated information from when I first read the report.
The face eater, Koryn Kraemer, was on alcohol, pot and fentanyl. This happened at 2:30 in the morning at a transit train station in Gresham AFTER the trains stopped running for the night. So, the only reason for anyone to even be there would be loitering as homeless or drug reasons.
Read some reddit threads talking about this in r/portland and r/Beaverton. Seems that riding the max trains, in general, are dangerous these days. A few native NYC residents are saying that NYC feels safer than Portland anymore.
A couple of info bits related: The Florida face eater in 2013 was not on any drugs. A guy who did the same face eating thing in another city a few years later ( he cornered a couple in their garage, if I remember) I cannot remember if he was on bath salts or not but he did speak later on about what was going on with himself and he said voices were telling him who the demons were and he thought the couple he came across were demons and ate their faces.
I don't have any 'wrap-up' points to make. I'm in a serious WTF mindset right now. Are we dealing with mental illness and ultra hardcore drugs here? Or are we dealing with the beginnings of an actual zombie effing apocalypse here?
