hearing low, rumbling sounds for a week now

I have the day off today so I've been able to pay more attention to this "rumble" and I have to say it has died off since this morning. We heard it yesterday in the evening maybe ten or 15 times and again this morning, it actually woke me up around 5:30 am today. Thanks for your responses people, really interesting we are hearing it all over the place.

I too, thought it was a stereo behind me, so I took a snapshot of the only car that was behind me in my mind. Minutes later, on a completely different street WITH NO CARS BEHIND ME, I heard the exact same frequency and pulse of sound. 4 pulses around the 50- 75 hrtz range.
