Millions went into merchandise and Trump properties. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85111121 Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump's former White House counselor, believes the former president's 2020 campaign made "disastrous mistakes" and wasted a $1.6 billion election war chest that in part led to his chaotic election loss. "With roughly $1.6 billion to spend and Joe Biden as the opponent, the 2020 election should have been a blowout," she said. "Instead, they proved the adage that the fastest way to make a small fortune is to have a very large one and waste most of it." In a New York Times op-ed published Friday, Conway argues that Trump has a pathway to victory in the 2024 election despite his ongoing legal woes, a lackluster performance by his preferred midterm candidates, and some criticism around his bombastic personality. Trump generally surrounded himself with people based on their perceived, not actual loyalty to him; he is a remarkably bad judge of character. Oh, his judgement might have worked in a business environment, but in the world of politics, he was like a lamb led to the slaughter. Chris Christie and Andrew Napolitano were two of the few that were actually loyal to him, and he treated them poorly. He had a fit of pique over Christie because he handed Trump his phone and it wasn’t spotless to germaphobe Trump’s liking, and he had a falling out with Napolitano, who was an obvious choice as a Supreme Court nominee. Conway acted like a schoolgirl in the White House, and was more of a liability than anything else. |

Got to pay off the right people and that takes a shit ton of money. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15057967 Trump is an accomplished squanderer of money. He doesn't care. He was born into a wealthy family. A new study by a Temple University professor shows that Donald Trump’s casinos in Atlantic City lost more jobs and money than competitors’ casinos, while also going through more bankruptcies than any other major business in America. While many casinos in Atlantic City struggled during the time period Lipson evaluated, Trump’s lost about 37 percent more employees and 33 percent more revenue on average. “In head-to-head competition the same business in the same place and time, facing the same threats Trump’s casinos performed worse on average than other Atlantic City casinos at creating sustainable jobs,” Lipson wrote in his study, which was the focus of an article in The Wall Street Journal. “His casinos were not the ‘best’ and not even average. They were the worst.” [link to news.temple.edu (secure)] |
