Saw a dozen or more in the field next to my house just this afternoon (seeing that many congregating in one place was a little odd though). Not overly concerned about the winter storm this go-round, it shouldn't be nearly as bad as the 2021 storm. JUST IN CASE though, got a couple propane bottles on hand, generator has been serviced and gassed up, Jackery power bank is charged up, got enough bottled water and groceries on hand to be stuck at home. Couple of the bridges on 82 were pretty slick this afternoon, lots of wrecks. Idiots trying to drive 75mph on ice. Looks really bad tomorrow and Wednesday. Did a test run Sunday with the genny, all good. First ice storm with the new solar system, of course I didn't draw off it today. Cardinals were really scrounging around my barn this morning. One of my tanks looked pretty slushy on top, it didnt get above freezing today...only 22 degrees here now. Starlink is working great though, still getting 85mb down and 22 up. Elon did a good job with that. Had a Dr appt today at 2pm in Hospital district in Fort Worth. Did not even bother to go. We've had sleet and freezing rain here for the last 9 hours off and on. Paved part of driveway is slick near the house. Geni is gassed and plenty of Food/water, so I will just sit at home and stream some shows I want to watch until Thursday. |
