i heard an old audio file years ago in which Elvis was explaining why he went into hiding/faked his death.

some trial was coming up and he was a witness.
he faked his death to protect his family.
thats what he said.

The last time I saw him he was working at a gas station just outside of Culpeper, Virginia.
