Re: I FINALLY GOT OFF Zoloft after 20 years and here is what I can tell you...
Tip from first hand experience - But DON’T try this without consulting a doctor first - it can be DISASTROUS - and by that I mean it can lead to a negative outcome of suicide.

I’ve been on Venlafaxine (Effexor) since 2005. I got a wild hair once and decided I was evolved and a big girl and I could handle life UNmedicated. Felt silly to use this dumb pill as a crutch just to cope with life. And just pathetic and lame

I had tried before to “wean off” several times…with AWFUL results (the brain zaps OP mentioned are no joke - not to mention the NAUSEA and other weird symptoms).

This final time, I literally pulled those little plastic capsules apart…got a magnifying glass, and separated this little circles of evil into groups…the particles are SO TINY - it’s hard to keep track without spilling them but I was worried my pets would get ahold of them so I did it SUPER CAREFULLY. I counted those bitches out every single night…started with every little dot…waited a few day…took ONE LESS dot than the day before, monitored myself for any side effects, then went on and on every few days counting dots like an insane person (literally). But it worked and I DIDN’T end up psychotic (yayyy!! Been there and THAT’S no fun) - take it or leave it. It may be a well known method of weaning off these evil drugs…but I did it out of desperation, so maybe it will help someone else. If you don’t take your time with it and be nauseatingly patient and continue to count those damn dots and GO SLOW, I can’t help you - you’ll end up in a bad way I promise. Take it or leave it. It helped me. Did I eventually decide life sucks to a degree I can’t manage and go right back on it a month later?????? Well, maybe it will work for you anyway!

That’s exactly the point some people need them or they can’t cope, and it’s literally biological probably through nurture and life.

If you grew up in a shitty broken household, did a bunch of hard drugs, guess what you’re brain already started off on a bad start, then you just totally fucked it up some more.

Where it can produce the proper chemicals, growing up In a fucked up home wires your brain differently then a happy loved one.

To say these drugs are evil is downright fucking retarded, you haven’t seen people who need to be on them that aren’t that’s literally pure evil. As soon as they are medicated they become different people, people you actually want to be around.

Not on drugs they are evil vengeful fucks.

Sure there mighty be ways to rewire the brain supposedly mushrooms, but even that has risks for people already with bipolar or other messed up diagnoses. Only somewhat beneficial outcomes were for just normal depression.

And don’t feel bad about “coping” with life, you’ve been literally given a handicap in your brain, it’s not your fault. It’s like feeling bad I can’t do shit because I have no arms, and these prosthetic arms make me feel not like an adult.

They’ve fucked with our food water electromagnetically and on and on and on, they’ve literally fucked us all up.

Lastly like others have said without a relationship with god the ultimate coping drug, life is just utterly meaningless.

I have insane amounts of money traveled the world barely work, and life literally fucking sucks, like what is there to do just eat sleep have sex every now and then.

Donate to some poor Africans, and….. like it’s literally boring, only time I get joy is praying and communicating with god, outside of that during the day I’m usually in a depressed state.

Re: I FINALLY GOT OFF Zoloft after 20 years and here is what I can tell you...
This was very retarded, my ex finally took it after being a total psychopath and it helped her tremendously, my other ex took it too total night and day difference.

She then just stopped taking it and became an unbearable asshole, there are def chemical imbalances in some people. When they take it they actually become more positive upbeat.

As soon as they are off they are paranoid delusional borderline fucks. I’m talking about people with real diagnosed problems. To just dismiss it is literally stupid.

Obviously there are natural alternative for people, but if they don’t take them for whatever reason, rather Zoloft than nothing.

Nothing literally ruins lives and families, ever had that asshole parent

I FINALLY GOT OFF Zoloft after 20 years and here is what I can tell you...

After "911" and the anthrax scare I became EXTREMELY GERMAPHOBIC. I went from picking dropped food off any surface and eating it to FULL ON only sterile food. So I told my doctor and he put me on Zoloft and told me it would alleviate those feelings, but it takes weeks to months to kick in. So you go on this and by the time you realize it didn't do SHIT you are HOOKED, you cannot just stop. So I continued to take it for years thinking it was somehow helping.

Last year I decided I need to get off this SHIT. One thing I noticed on Zoloft one side effect I actually didn't mind was "Delayed Ejaculation" (YES it's a real side effect) so when the wife or girlfriend and I had sex I could pretty much go as long as I wanted. As I got older this side effect became sometimes insurmountable and I noticed less morning wood and I had started getting depression non-sex related.

After hearing studies showing what a FUCKING LIE BIG PHARMA used to PUSH ANOTHER ADDICTIVE POISON I said "That's it I need to get this SHIT OUT OF MY BODY". I had tried before to get off Zoloft but even after trying to ease off I would end up almost suicidal do to withdrawals which included suicide thoughts and what can only be described as getting ELECTRIC SHOCKS to the brain, which included literally seeing flashed in front of my eyes.

THIS IS HOW I DID IT AND DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE DO THE SAME THING. I did ALL THIS without a doctors help

In the past I tried to get off by lowering the daily dose till I would stop and that's when the brain altering side effects would kick in.

This time I decided the VERY LONG process of not lower the dose but going 2 weeks minus one dose, then 2 weeks minus 2 doses...until it was down to ONE DOSE PER WEEK, which I did for a month, then ONE DOSE PER 2 WEEKS for another month, then ONE per three weeks, then ONE per month and In December 2022 I forgot to take the one month dose, I looked back at my log and the last dose was in mid Nov 2022.

NOW this PART IS GOING TO BE VERY CONTROVERSIAL.

During the DOSE DOWN PHASE, I added a few drinks a few times a week. I HAVE NO IDEA if this HELPED OR NOT. I do know that I drank socially before and as the Zoloft doses went down, I starting drinking less.

What have I noticed since December.

NO SHOCKS in the brain.

ZERO increased OCD or anxiety, in fact LESS OCD and LESS anxiety.

Germaphobia is NOW LOWER and I am working on kicking it OUT OF MY LIFE.

THE BIG ONE....SEX, my libeto has increased to the point where my wife told me to get a girlfriend (I a not kidding on this one) because I am like a 30 year old man again and want to nail her 3 times a day. Waking up and full mast everyday and midday. ZERO delayed finish.

ZOLOFT FUCKED ME UP for over 20 YEARS and BIG PHARMA should be PUT IN PRISON FOR PUSHING that SHIT.

NEARLY ALL MASS SHOOTERS are on Psychotropic DRUGS, they FUCK YOU UP they DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU. They ONLY people who I have researched that are helped somewhat are those with Bipolar, everyone else is just FUCKED.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Can't believe they trolled you in the very first reply. Lol Pharma took this site over 2 years ago. Anyway, thanks for posting this. My experience is 100% dead on with your's. I'm gonna try this. One question...I get jolts after missing a dose by a few hours. How long before you noticed it subsiding? I'm extremely patient and very stubborn, so I'm just asking for reference.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79779345

First two tries I got the brain zaps bad...had to call off work until I got it back in my system.

3rd time I never got them, but it was about a 6 month slow down, if I even thought something was off I would take a 1/4 dose...I was on ER Zoloft.
 Quoting: #Zuckerberg for Prison

Thanks for laying it all out. I hope it's still working for you. I'm definitely going for it. I'm not gonna miss the sexual side effects for sure. Women will fuck you to death when they figure out you can go all night. Ugh

Re: I FINALLY GOT OFF Zoloft after 20 years and here is what I can tell you...
Five stars, OP.

I was on prozac, zoloft, then celexa, and back to prozac from age 12 until age 25.

I tried going off them completely numerous times during those 13 years and would get all panicky and experienced something similar to those electric shocks to the brain you mentioned.

Then when I was 25, I was entering a new phase of life and I wound up quitting cold turkey with God's help. I truly believe it was a miracle.

I'm all for shutting down Big Pharma completely and putting all the head honchos on trial for crimes against humanity.

I quit 8mgs of Suboxone and 1mg of clonazepam (3x daily) cold turkey (after nearly 10 years).

It was absolutely brutal. From the sweats, shits, restlessness, brain flashes...Yeah worst few weeks of my life but I am so glad I made it through because of exactly the things the OP spoke of.

Sorry I didn't read all six pages, but what was your dosage before you started reducing?

And why didn't you ask your doctor to help you with the withdrawal process. I mean it's great you did it on your own, but it sure could have gone wrong after taking it so many years. A good and responsible doctor should have been happy to help you.

If you gained much weight over the years, hopefully it will start to drop off as your metabolism should now start to increase.

Good for you! Great post.

Great job, OP! Congratulations!

I’m currently having “brain shocks” from getting off of all of my medications and this gave me some good insight. Thanks!

sudden stoppage to clarify
 Quoting: Youth for Nixon

NEVER- sudden stopping of these types of drugs can lead to death...OR WORSE.

I have heard it taking over 2 years for some to get off these.
 Quoting: #Zuckerberg for Prison

I used Aropax (Paxil in the USA) for about 4 years, decades ago. When it stopped working, i stopped taking them. Then i got the brain jabs really bad. It was like getting shot in the head i'm sure. I had to go on another anti-dep in order to wean myself off them. Can't remember the name of the replacement drug but going off that didn't produce the crippling side effects. Then due to my life, i went years later on a generic of Prozac for a few years.

Talk about a soul killer zombiemaker. Stopped that one cold turkey and have not touched an anti depressant in years. Learnt this lesson: Be basically content with your life and NEVER get into a relationship with a Narcissist. Don't expect life to be like the TV ads. Happiness is fleeting moments, quiet contentment endures.I imagine for someone with genuine brain chemistry imbalances some of these drugs may have a stabilising effect, idk. But most people on anti-deps are on them, i think, to try and fix problems that are actually very remote from physical medical ones.
