Massive Peer-Reviewed Mask Study Shows 'Little To No Difference' In Preventing COVID, Flu Infection

I examined that "massive" peerreviewed article, because I doubted its veracity.

My objective observations prove to me that N95 masks do, indeed, prevent covid, VERY WELL.

This "study" was a gathering of various studies, done for various reasons, over several years. Only two purported to have actually involved SARS. It appears that these studies were chosen, and INTERPRETED, by a group of people who had the goal of PROVING that mask wearing, and even HAND WASHING, doesn't work.

However, here is a preface, published by them, to their own conclusions:

"The included studies were conducted in heterogeneous settings, ranging from suburban schools to hospital wards in high‐income countries; crowded inner city settings in low‐income countries; and an immigrant neighbourhood in a high‐income country. Adherence with interventions was low in many studies."

N95 masks, properly worn, DEFINITELY REDUCES THE CHANCES OF SOMEONE CONTRACTING A RESPIRATORY DISEASE.

I have watched this happen, many times, over the past two years.

Do you people not remember, during the beginning of the covid virus, when masks were in very short supply, the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, and WHO, stated that masks WEREN'T EFFECTIVE in reducing the spread of the virus, and that we should not purchase them?

THAT PROVIDES ALL THE PROOF THAT A REASONABLY INTELLIGENT PERSON NEEDS.

However, I have closely observed that masks are effective.

A massive international research collaboration that analyzed several dozen rigorous studies focusing on "physical interventions" against COVID-19 and influenza found that they provide little to no protection against infection or illness rates.

A little over a year before Covid hit, I was designing air purifiers and had to do some research into the various filters used in these products. I learned all about different particle sizes and the kinds of filters required to catch them and we concluded that the particle size of a virus was so small that there was no filter that would catch them. I’m talking about heavy duty filters that worked well for larger particles but would not work against viruses. After the research that I conducted I knew there was no way that a face mask made of the thin material was going to do anything to prevent the spread of a virus. I tried explaining this to everyone early on when Covid hit but no one would listen. They’d argue that the mask was to stop droplets that came from you which held the virus, not the virus itself. I called bullshit on that every time.

FYI, don’t waste money on an air purifier if you think it’s going to capture viruses in your home. They work well for larger particles such as smoke, odors, pet dander and VOCs and may bring some relief to people that suffer from asthma and seasonal allergies but that all depends on the filters in the air purifier as well as how many times the purifier can exchange the air in the space that the purifier is placed in. Most air purifiers has a crappy squirrel fan in them that don’t have enough power to move the air in home they are used in which means that a consumer would have to buy several of them strategically placed throughout their home in order to be effective.
