My point is precisely that the ETs would hide behind religious symbols, and only a real mind invasion would explain how much power Stalin wielded, and how many people they all killed; Philip K. Dick even has a story describing Mao as basically Cthulhu, 'Faith of our Fathers'. Iconoclastic religions generally tend to downplay all other images but that of their one 'glorious' antenna, and jump like lemmings to their Deaths in pursuit of it. Nicholas Roerich played both sides, including FDR himself.
