The US ICBM silo launch system is antiquated, and by that I don't mean technology-wise, I mean strategically. Anyone with access to Google Satellite can get exact GPS coordinates for American missile silos, and in a full exchange, they're going to get hit no matter who fires first. That paints giant bullseyes on Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. The US would have been much better switching to mobile launchers instead of upgrading the Minuteman III missiles. At any rate, those silos are dinosaurs. America's true nuclear deterrence lies in its missile boats. China's ICBM capabilities are something we need to keep an eye on, but just because they have more land-based launchers than the US doesn't give them any strategic advantage.
