Well to be more correct, oxen and carts.

This period was the grand age of construction with stone. The mason's lodges were extremely organized. They would build huge wooden cranes to lift the stones.

These projects were largely dependent on how much money they could throw at it. Notre Dame was built in one continuous campaign. The same can be said of Chartres. This was not the norm as many cathedrals took many centuries to build as the campaigns were not continuous due to lack of funds.

These building campaigns and the people that participated in them were the most advanced technological feats of their time. Not much different in some ways than the start of building skyscrapers in the 1900's. The building of those very early skyscrapers also involved oxens and carts.

What are YOU trying to say? That it wasn't possible?

The sad thing is that most of the designers, architects, and builders names are lost to history as the fund raisers (bishops and whatnot) are given credit for the works.

Oh, and to the person that said unions were not around at the time? Not true as the mason's lodge operated as a union. They controlled whether a person worked or not, what the wages were, and also the training regimens.

You're comparing two totally different processes. Which means you'll never develop an accurate or useful way to compare them.

Exactly...

That whole era of architecture is maybe the biggest lie and probably ties in with our true history and orgin story which I believe we know nothing true about

People used to work and took pride in their work. I know it's hard to imagine that now.

since we are not building anything remotely like this today, you are correct we will never develop an accurate way to compare

The Dark Ages were not as dark as they tell you.

The 13th Century was fantastic and full of art and culture and life.
