I posted this elsewhere before, but it’s worth the additional context. Beaver County, PA (directly across the border from East Palestine, OH and just as affected by the ‘controlled explosion’) has the same, general demographics as East Palestine (and surrounding towns.) Beaver County was once a world leader in the steel industry. Every town had at least one mill, and every residential earned a very nice livelihood…house, two cars, wife at home, etc. When steel died in the 80s, every town was absolutely devastated. Most of Beaver Country has yet to recover. The heavily Union county were loyal and habitual Democrats for nearly 100 years. Long after the party left them, they continued to vote straight D. Within the last 15 years or so, the people there finally started to wise up. The county has been very, very Red ever since. Killing off that area kills off that Republican voting base. Not saying anything is/was intentional, but it sure is one hell of a benefit to the Left.
