If you travel internationally learn the customs. In Thailand, it's a big insult to point the bottom of your foot at another person. | |

In Thailand, it's a big insult to point the bottom of your foot at another person. In most of the Middle East, it is a big insult to wave with your left hand. It is considered filthy after 5,000 years of not having toilet paper (if you get my drift.) The King of Thailand has his face on the baht coin. If one is rolling across the ground and you step on it to stop it, they will kick your face in. When they wanted to insult Americans they hung a sandal over the Embassy sign. In Buddhist communities, don't touch the little Buddhas they have on a string around their neck. They lose it. People that travel have to learn the ways of the people they visit or they might go to jail or worse. Ask that Grinder dude. |

In Thailand, it's a big insult to point the bottom of your foot at another person. It might have changed by now, but when I was in Turkey you did not dare hit on Turkish girls. They might like it but their fathers and brothers will teach you some manners. In Okinawa if you're trying to buy something from a family owned shop (there are hundreds) don't worry about the ridiculous prices marked. Those are for assh***s. Talk with the proprietors a minute or two, ask them how long they've had been there, about their families, etc. Tell them who you are and why you're there. Be friendly. Then pick up what you're after and ask. You'll be surprised. In foreign countries never ever get drunk in public. They can get away with that, you can't. If you don't know what someone is asking you, smile and shake your head. They'll get an English speaker to translate. Patience, Daniel-san. |

The Thai worship their spoiled-greedy-stupid-evil royals so much, that even folding a banknote is an insult, because some stupid jerk has his face on it. Brianless morans the lot of them, who don't have any hobbies obviously. |
