The military industrial complex and the deep state LOVE the cartels, in fact, illegal drug and gun running is a huge part of how the black budget is funded. The CIA has a symbiotic relationship with the cartels and in some cases, they are running them. This is the entire motivation for the frivolous "war on drugs", which is a bid to keep the black market from moving into the legitimate one, as that would create a paper trail. A major motive for the invasion of Afghanistan was so that the CIA could control the opium supply and pocket that money themselves. Same thing is now happening with the Chinese/Mexican cartels and fentanyl - with the added bonus of killing Americans and creating another crisis to exploit. These cartels ARE our deep state, or at the very least their funding mechanism.

The shadow government is using these organized crime syndicates to hold Mexico's government hostage and force them to negotiate in exchange for armed US intervention (which will further enrich defense contractors). The primary "problem" the deep state has with Mexico right now is their "Mexico first" agricultural policy and the proposed partial nationalization of their energy sector. If Mexico does this, it locks out multinational oil tyrants from exploiting and controlling Mexico. Mark my words, by the end of this manufactured cartel crisis, Mexico will be forced to change its energy and agriculture policies.
