Quoting: Squarewave What a beautiful place to dwell… thanks for posting this. I learned chicken prep on the farm, usually doing a dozen at a time. Folks today have rarely learned such practices. Most people in western countries nowadays are living in cities. Don't expect them to even slightly be interested in "such practices". lol Yet I am sure sooner or later such practices will prove themselves to be very valuable - even and perhaps especially in western nations such as the US. Who can tell? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80061423 Dude has like 15+ cameras and angles. Let alone the video storage, laptops, batteries and video editing. You are right. It's strange. There is so much fakery and tricking going on on the internet it's unbelievable.... but as far as the recipe goes, it seems to be real! |

You have to build a home or homestead in the middle of nowhere tomorrow. You're not a neanderthal or a caveman, are you? Probably not. Every element around you would be used as would your intellect, curiosity, desires, skills and so on. It MAY take a long while but with decent tools and resources I am pretty certain "most" modern Western people would, through trial and error, tenacity or willpower come up with something very warm, comfortable and inviting. This notion that life was always total BS in the past just doesn't mesh with reality for Europeans. Irish thatched stone cottages were very warm, well insulated. Scandinavians had great wooden and log homesteads I don't really need to mention Greeks, Romans or anyone else. So it stands to reason if you're surrounded by a forest you can produce (eventually) something great and live VERY comfortably, heck we even make great houses out of mud ( cob houses) as opposed to mud huts some peoples oddly have never progressed from. This guy's waterwheel has enough flow for electricity AND plumbing...it actually seems somewhat idyllic. More like a great cottage or cabin. If we were left ALONE this is something most people who can Work-from-Home, or retirees would like...but we're going to be stuffed into smart cities like sardines instead, stalked and monitored in real time within an inch of our lives by some paranoid control freaks... |
