In the early daze of covid, I remember watching the line at my local bank.....most of the line was old people that still thinks the bank has pallets of cash in their vaults to withdraw.....

I was there to deposit alot of cash cuz I needed to pay bills online should the bank close for covid.....near the head of the line, the faces were long and some were crying cuz they were told there was no cash and a few days were needed to get it in....

The old guy at the next teller was happy cuz my teller counted my cash and slid it over to the next teller for his withdraw....he smiled and said he been waiting on the line since daybreak....

Yeah wild stuff cash in a bank is a massive risk developing a physical gold trading system where you hold all your cash equivalent in gold and trade against it with futures you’ll need like 10% in the account.

So basically earn 5% or something but when the financial system finally implodes you have your gold

Why would anyone keep large sums in a bank all at risk not much return and now Bail-ins they take your money and give you stock in the worthless bank, fdic insurance has maybe 10% you might get 10% of your money, I think you wont get anything!

2019 got 150k cash to buy a car, no problem.

Well, you have to have an account at whatever bank you choose to cash the check. It could be bogus and that is why they make you wait days. Why should they do all that work for you not to leave it in there. How do you ever get cash now? They will flag your account and you may never be able to get another account.

Your cash in hand will be worthless if that happens. Remember confederate dollars? They would lay it on cornbread and cut around it to give that much worth to the dollar in your hand.

Nope structuring does not include bank to bank transfers. Just cash deposits. Went through this when I cashed out big time in crypto and didn’t trust coinbase. The banks or feds didn’t care if it was coming from another financial institution because it’s all tracked.

When a SAR is filed, it's sent to the IRS. IIRC, all SAR's go to a Detroit IRS office.

You can't have more than 10K or 20K in cash on you, otherwise the police could confiscate it when you are driving or flying from point A to point B...

Oh no, they'll take it even with the bank slip. They took it from that veteran in Nevada and he had a bank slip. They don't care. It's free money and you have to pay to go to court for a chance at getting it back.

The look I got, priceless.


I did have to arrange for them to have the money about a week before though.

Just deposited a Lawyer Trust Account check for a little over a quarter million and the bank held 95% unavailable for 7 business days. That even though I have more than 400K on deposit and they hold a $100,000 mortgage on my house which is worth 700K. Like where the f was I going if the check didn't clear?

Figured it cost me a couple hundred bucks not having use of the funds.
