I saw a video on insta showing he had a broken leg and was hoping on three legs....the younger nomadic rivals would have sensed weakness and an opportunity to take over the pride, they then took out his brother in a separate attack.

Lions often rule in a coalition (usually their brother or brothers).

One of the most dominant prides in history was actually ruled 7 brothers that grew up from cubs to rule a huge territory. You can look up a documentary about it, its called lions of the sabi sands or something....well worth a watch

Crazy to see the lion brothers as cubs, right up to their deaths. They went out like warriors! Lions are incredible creatures, they fight to the death even against overwhelming odds.

Warning, this is not Disney's sanitized version. Brutal.
