In the coming days, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will announce the approval of a multi-year loan program for Ukraine totaling $15.6 billion. This was reported on Wednesday by the British newspaper Financial Times, citing a source familiar with the negotiations.

Negotiations between representatives of the IMF and the Ukrainian government took place in Warsaw from March 8 to March 15. The foundation said they were productive and allowed the parties to make "significant progress" in agreeing on "a set of approaches that could form the basis of a program supported by the foundation."

In early February, the Financial Times reported that Ukraine's Western allies are putting pressure on the IMF to achieve the speedy implementation of a multi-year loan program for Kiev in the amount of $14 billion to $ 16 billion. According to preliminary information, the program is designed for three to four years.

Earlier, Finance Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko stated that the country's draft budget for 2023 included a deficit of $38 billion.
