NASA's Mars rover Curiosity took the above images on March 16, 2023 (Sol 3771) with its right-side Mast Camera.

All over the above mosaic are remains of laminated wood on Mars. Red arrows point to remains of wood cells in their cross sections.

Red arrows do not point to sand grains or silt, which are not circular or rectangular with a dark center as shown in the above figure.
