Anonymous Coward User ID: 82554391 ![]() 03/27/2023 01:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I spent years wanting to move there and researching it. This what I was told: Very windy, people go mad Extremely humid except in the dry areas. All beautiful areas cordoned off: they're either state parks or bought by Hollywood elite. (Kanye bought there years after I was told this!) Extremely boring. High suicide rate. Nothing to do People gossip. Very far to go get groceries Unless you live in the city, in which case, you might as well stay where you are. So I gave up. ![]() |

Some vacation there in the summer but never stay as they are not strong enough to stay. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80005771 That's what you think! Libtards in your bed as I type, eating KFC and watching your TV. You won't be back till July, is that right? |

I have no idea what this could possibly mean. Care to explain? Because the wind sock is a logging chain. The winds are so intense that a mere wind sock would desinigrate. The winds in Wyoming are Epic. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80600233 That's all I can do. I am trying to find a place where the kids can thrive and do their best. . If you're gonna put up with cold and misery, try Alaksa, it's technically split, but the harsh conditions grow real humans, and puts a damper on how the woke can get way with their BS. |

PS It's also easier to own weapons and teach your kids how to use them, and actually use them when the idiots come by. The best reason. Check out those Youtube preppers living a fabulous life off the grid and making tons of money growing their own food and teaching others and/or selling it. |

The winds in Wyoming are Epic. You know, if I ask you to explain, you CANNOT use the same words I don't understand!!! Hello! You typed the same exact words!!!!! I already typed here above about their notorious winds! Logging: when you want to sign onto a website. Chain: what I sometimes wear around my neck, in gold. I think I know what a windsock is. What does it have to do with logging on to a website or jewelry? ![]() |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83899610 ![]() 03/27/2023 02:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just curious. Minnesota is becoming a dangerous place to raise children. I have been considering leaving it for a red state. However, I don't want to get move to a red state that could conceivably turn blue. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84759337 I know little about Wyoming. I have driven through it. Is it a good place to live? . Wyoming will be a great state right up until Yellowstone blows its top. The 50 miles from Cody, WY to Yellowstone are about the prettiest country I have seen. Teddy Roosevelt also felt that way. |

Obviously the weather and amount of snow in Wyoming varies with altitude. But it is generally cold throughout. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 84334525 ![]() 03/27/2023 02:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's the bad... constant unrelenting winds, extended cold weather (long winters - short summers). Remote (some people go nuts from boredom -personally, I don't know 'how' to be bored) Highly subjective. 'Outdoorsy' people don't get bored. High alcoholism and suicide rates ( I think this is mostly because of the inclusion of reservation populations), the Indian reservations here are our version of 'slums.' Weed is not - nor will it ever be 'legal.' Any kind of substantial career/work is difficult to find within a realistic commute. Most of the work is seasonal. (Not a problem if a remote worker). The good... most people (Outside of a few liberal enclaves - Jackson, Lander... to name two off-hand) are sane, conservative, religious and extremely patriotic. We're probably more 'MAGA' than Texas. Too cold for a homeless population. Too cold for a migrant population (we have some migrant Hispanics - but they're 'our' migrant Hispanics - mind your own damned business. Best fly fishing in the lower 48. Most people might seem dour, or stand-offish -but you'll find them to have golden hearts, helpful, civic-minded and loyal, but they're also stubborn and pathologically independent. It's a rugged place to live. I will never live anywhere else. |
