Last September, Raytheon Missiles and Defense was awarded a $412 million contract to upgrade Taiwanese military radar as part of a $1.1 billion package of U.S. arms sales to the island.

Taiwan buys the majority of its weapons from the U.S., which is its biggest unofficial ally. In recent years, China has frequently sent fighter jets and warships toward the island, surrounding it at different times in a campaign of military pressure and intimidation.

It's hard as hell to get security clearance in those companies, and once you do get security clearance you have great job security.

Also both those companies banned chips from China, once they discovered China was installing backdoors in their chips. That was about 10 years ago.

Consumer chips are the biggest problem, and the Chinese are spying on most American consumers today. That's why my house has almost zero technology in it, and I disabled the camera and microphone in my computer and phone.

It gets me what people will allow in their houses, everything from electronic rice makers to electronic bathroom mirrors.

I know this for a fact, because of having worked in the defense industry, and I have relatives still working in the defense industry.

To get to any sensitive project you have to go through multiple security barriers.
