Male bass make the nest to attract the female, she lays the eggs and leaves never to return. The male bass fertilizes the eggs and protects them and the fry after they hatch. They will fight or eat anything that come near them. If you approach the nest on a boat or on a pier, the bass will always be between you and his eggs/fry, staring at you ready to handle business. |
