Tbh, when I'm writing, I work as fast as I can because the inspiration is fleeting.

I need to capture it in the moment or else it's all for not.

I wasn't even planning on making music today but I was in the shower this morning and the idea came to me (chords and melody) and I openedd up ableton to get it down... and well here we are haha.

The melody is great, you have some super stuff going on there but again, its the chaining that crushes it.
Only saying that because the genre started here in S/SE London about 25 years ago, we all have headaches and tinitus from aggressive limiters and over heavy compression.
If we want it to sound louder these days, we buy bigger woofas and tweeters.

Haha yeah you guys definitely started this shit so I blame you!

I opened up the project file and am trying to make the s/c more transparent, I really just used my default preset with not much tweaking so like I said, it was pretty rough.

To be honest, I don't use many limiters or heavy compression these days.

I just saturate the hell out of everthing, clip the transients on individual elements, buses, and the 2-bus... and then 1-2 db of bus compression.

Saturation > Compression for this loud stuff.

Something else I made last night.

I made these snow covered trees in Houdini and the landscape was made in Gaea... then I brought it into Unreal Engine which is what you see.

Yeah I used to use the clipper on Manipulator a lot before I found other options.

Nah I just made about 1000 tracks that completely sucked before they started getting better.

Sounds excellent. Things that stand out are the drums, melody, and sense of progression. Good choice of sounds too.

unfortunately, I think, the limiter that I am talking about is only available through Waves..
