A perfect joint of medium to higher grade weed is a coarsely ground heaping tablespoon rolled on two super thin rice papers glued together. One paper will be too wet by the time a couple of puffs are taken. I prefer perfectly symmetrical joints rolled on a flat surface using three fingers to gently roll the weed into a perfect rod then roll it closed, all flat.
The "finger" method so many use is usually uneven unsanitary and doesn't burn correctly. You're just wasting weed making those super sized joints. Bigger isn't better, in fact the bigger the joint the more foul it tastes in the last half of it.

The ideal hit is probably in a freshly cleaned bong using ice water and fresh bud right in the bowl.
