Rev Wright on CNN right now.....he's doing a great job

a great job if you agree with him. I don't,he spreads hate.

I like him too - the media has been over the top unfair - everyone should really listen to the whole sermon where the "God damn America" soundbyte came from - it is so NOT anti-american ! In fact it is about how even though governments make mistakes, governments can change and it is a great sermon. BTW I am a white female for what it's worth.

Rev Wright is very quick witted! That guy is sharp. I see now why his church is big.

What ticks me off is that MOST of us on GLP think the same thing/things of our Government and the way things are going....but let a black minister say those things and they want to paint him as unamerican....

Now, I ask, where does that leave all of us? They are trying to demonize those that don't agree with the Gov.

I have heard more of Jesus' message of "Do unto others as you want them to do unto you" than any other minister in recent times....and that's from just the few sound clips I've heard.

did you hear it? ... it was in the section of the speech when he was asked about louis f...didn't hear laughs from the crowd after.

It doesn't take much sense to figure this one out, but there are apparaently more people that don't use the brain that God has given them.

He made the media look like the little dull witted buggers they are!! trying to get a sound bite for the news.

His processor is running a lot faster then those giving him questions. time and again he showed they hadn't done their homework.

Like watching a guy with a wet noddle attacking a guy with a rapier!!

If that reprents the media, we are all in trouble.

I have read on this GLP that some say Obama is the antichrist, if so then Rev. Wright must be the false prophet. I do not care for either one of the liars.

Imo, Rev. Wright showed himself to be an educated, intelligent, traveled and thorough. The broad range of topics and events he referenced durinf his speech shows that, at the very least, he does his homeowrk. Also, I think it is absolutely critical to keep in mind that the clips he has become so infamously known for were actually qoutes of someone else (The PM of Iraq, I think.) and the portion that has been shown repeatedly does make it appear as if they were his own.

Rev. Wright also served 6 years in the armed forces, not necessarily a confirmation of patriotism, but undoubtedly a right to claim a more intimate understanding of how we operate in foreign lands during wartimes, his experience being Vietnam.

Rev. Wright can definitely get sharp tongued, sometimes offensive, depending on how you take what he's saying. At the end of it though, I think that he did a good job explaining himself and who he and his church are. I can see how you can be a part of his congregation and stay, even if you don't agree with every single word coming out of his mouth every Sunday for 20 years. He said more right than wrong today, issue and point wise and I also think some of his case building could have been less abrasive. In the end, even if the infamous "God damn America" is his true feelings, both he and the Iraqi PM are wrong. God didn't damn America, America damned America.
