Just Passing Through..... *MOLON LABE* User ID: 72647624 United States 05/02/2023 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Because everyone that uses their diesels know that an older diesel sans all that emissions shit, overbloated and glitchy tech suite, and designed obsolescence....is light years better to repair, maintain, and operate. New trucks definitely are more powerful and more cushy. But fuck all that when you get a repair bill for 1000s to replace a DPF or glitchy computer issues as soon as your 90k rig is out of warranty. How about when the DEF system goes down you've got 50 miles to get it fixed before you're limited to 50 MPH? Then limited to 5 MPH. Yeah I can do without all the crazy nonsense. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 35133674 Canada 05/02/2023 10:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why are used diesel truck prices so ridiculous? I understand these are million mile motors but they're under 100k mile cabs. Who in their right mind is paying 30k for these old pickups? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34276603 or you can go pay over 100K for a new one maybe just under a 100K for the lowest base model all used vehicle prices are ridiculous right now after the scamdemic stopped a huge percentage of those who would have done their 5 year trade in for a new one many kept their old cars and trucks it's a sellers market and even then with higher prices for used many still aren't selling because they don't want to go pay the ridiculous price for new |

Has a new upgraded 9 blade turbo and 5" exhaust and upgraded intercooler, down pipe, etc made for me at Gale Banks. 1000ft-lb of tq and probably close to 500hp. This truck is fun. These are the diesels currently sitting in my barn/garage. All of them I maintain and everyone one of them have not given me so much as a flat tire. Alot of people on here have heard me bitch about my fully loaded 2018 Chevy 3500 LTZ High Country addition that I bought and promptly sold before the warranty ran out. That truck was beautiful, it was a home on wheels. Plugs and cupholders and buttons and screens all over that truck. Freaking air conditioned seats even. Well, well over 900ft-lbs of torque too. That thing pulled like a freight train However about the 9th time it left me on the side of the road with a full dump trailer or on a road trip was enough for me to fall out of love with all the power and luxury and realize at the end of the day I just need something reliable and something I can work on myself. All my other trucks tow around my 12k lb dump trailer just fine. Don't need all the buttons and screens and even the air conditioned seats. I DO need a truck that can just get me there. I'll deal with the sweat spot on the back of my shirt happily now. Because I know what it costs now to get a vehicle that has them and that costs is a shitty over produced and under built 8k lb paperweight. There is my rant for the day. About to do some preventative maintenance like the water pump and some suspension items. My diesel guy says it will easily go 500,000 miles without any major issues. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58548125 My 7.3 has 200k i had to replace the turbo pipes with bellowed, fuel leak on the filter bowl, and radiator. Not too major but the engine runs great. |

If you know for a fact that it has been taken Care of and not abused, maybe 10000. If it's in great shape. 250,000 miles, it's not indestructible. Old dodges have a good rep but, there are better deals. out there. Keep lookin. People have gotten so greedy. |
