Generation Z leads in home ownership, beating out millennials & Gen X (FORBES)

How is that possible?

Is it because they are further generationally distanced from boomers?

I think the youngest of the adult generations realize that a traditional job isn't going to cut it nowadays, you gotta have side-hustles and multiple income streams. I think the Gen Z'ers are doing better because they're utilizing the internet to make money.

And yeah, being more distant from the boomer mentality, e.g. "find a good job and work your way up the ladder", will make you more successful.

If your annoying gen z'er was living with you in your basement, wouldn't you cash in the 401k and get them a small house to stop leeching off of you and experience the real world?

The parents are doing it, and this is going to cause a crash when those parents try to retire.

My parents didn't even buy me a car, much-less a house.

Their boomer parents are buying the house. They need something to sink the cash into. They essentially play bank for their own children, which is exactly what I've been saying a parent should do if they can, for years now. Then it's in the family.

Are they co-owners of the house or are they just giving the houses away to their kids/grand-kids?
I guess if you have the money then you might as well do this.

The problem with making money this way is that it isn’t sustainable, it’s too volatile and not stable.

Gen Z is '97-'10. That means only a small portion will have boomer parents, and then only the youngest of the boomers. Most Gen Z will have Gen X and Millennial parents.

Stability has never made as much money as risk. While one specific venture may not be sustainable, staying on the cutting edge of technology will. This is why they have houses and you don’t.

PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS are giving their homes to Gen Z kids since they will be moving into assisted living; the Gen Z are INHERITING THE HOMES.

Gen Z kids are scared of their own shadows.

When a Gen Z female figures out they can make 10K a month with anonymous feet feet pics, yeah she will own a house in no time. Strange times.

Unrestricted loan practices will eventually end in an even larger collapse.

Gen Z is still mostly in their early 20s with a few late 20s. Outside of obnoxious internet influencers, those kids aren’t covering the rent much less buying a house.
