June bugs... aaarrrgghh I hate em. Bugs that give you the willies?

June bugs, or June beetles as they are sometimes called... they're here.

First of all, they always show up in May, so whoever named these things was way off.

I know they're harmless to humans... they're like derpy cows of the night time bug world, (carpenter bees being the derpy cows of the daytime bug world) ...they just stupidly fly around, bonking off of porch lights and windows, getting stuck on their backs, etc...

They just want to eat vegetation and breed, I get it... but they always end up buzzing too close to my ear and it gives me the willies. Then their little barbed legs hook onto my clothes and I can't shake them off.

I live in the woods and not many of nature's creatures bother me, but June bugs... I hate 'em. That being said, I don't kill anything (even bugs) out here if I can help it, I try to live and let live. When we used to have chickens they would eat them up like crazy, it was very satisfying to watch.

About the only other bug that gives me the willies is the cicada killer wasps. Those will be coming later in the summer.

At least I don't live in Florida with the palmetto bugs... or in south America. *shudder*
