I remember big yards on 50x100 or 50x120 lots

with only a 800 - 1000 sqft house

and almost everyone had a garden

over half of those lots are gone in my hood now
stuffed up with 1500+ sqfoot infill on a 25x100 or 25x120 lot
no room for anything
no yard

the mobile home park up the hill has bigger yards than the infills

im not a boomer. but i remember the fuller brush man plowing the tupperware lady when they thought no one was looking.

i was only like 6.

the avon lady came over later to hide the smell.

a little traumatizing for a 6 year to see at the time.

i worked through it though.

Yeah well.... learning how it goes early.

U remember seeing black and white TV for the first time at age 12.

We played outside and built forts and stuff. Phones were dial type. Had to fix your own bike. Had bb guns and pocket knives. After a fist fight you became friends. When you fooked up yer parents beat your ass (needed more than ever now).

Well, I remember driving home from work drinking a beer, not wearing a seat belt and had no insurance and it was totally legal.

I remember working 40 years at an unskilled job before retiring with a huge pension after making more money than skilled workers today. We worked the job of just one person and could even take 2 or 3 hour naps each and every day! Jobs were fun and we had a good time. We could come in drunk and grease the stairways so bossman fell and would be out for weeks at a time so we can come to work and have no boss telling us what to do! Our health benefits were $10 a visit and 100 percent covered without deductibles and other BS of today. Bought brand new home and brand new cars every 2 years and saved at least a grand each and every month in the bank account despite buying new cars and tons of toys and Harley motorcycles!

Can't understand why workers of today who can barely afford a tiny apartment with college degree or skilled job are fukken complaining! Pull up your bootstraps you whiners!!
