Ukraine has squeezed out of the US Patriot missile system a capability that the Pentagon did not think possible, military analyst says

The Patriot battery radar is passive. The missiles themselves have an active radar (Pac3).

A patriot missile reaches its terminal velocity of Mach 5 in less than 3 seconds.

The original Patriot system was for aircraft only and was designed in the late 70s. Today's system shares virtually nothing with the original besides the name.

So when you hear someone say it is old they are either misinformed or trying to deceive. It is the same with Tomahawks, Sparrows, Sidewinders, and Harpoons. They share nothing with the originals from 40 to 50 years ago except often physical dimensions.

I love the Putin lickers here, bur Ukraine is currently shaping the battlefield in preparation for their next offensive. They are hitting so many supplies, supply lines, troop concentrations , command and control behind the lines right now using accurate long range artillery, drones and British cruise missiles. Russia will need to use nukes by October or face being driven out of Ukraine altogether.
