Wrong. NVIDIA is actually making something. Their products are top of the line. They are to top global GPU maker, both in volume and performance.
The reason their value jumped so much recently is the fact that they are the global leader in AI computing and pretty much everyone is now investing in AI.

Tesla is where it is because of government involvement. Nvidia got here on their own, by being the best at what they do.....and milking it.

Again, it's the AI and enterprise market that made the difference, not the gaming market.

The PC platform has been declared dead everybody, as a trend and a market it is finished.
This is why AMD does not care to slaughter the consumer or professional novidea add in card business. AMD already has consoles, will dominate new laptops for this holiday season, and Intel cannot keep up in servers.

Nvidea's only strategy left is marketing. Meaning designing chips before anyone wants them, and cheaping out on the bill of materials.
Nvidea was so lucky Nintendo did so with the switch for their unsellable stockpiles of garbage chips. The switch is also certified dead by the numbers.

That's strange, as the community who buy their graphics cards for gaming are very unhappy with the current generation offering. Both the specs and performance for the price.

AI is the new tech bubble. Another vaporware bubble to prop up the dying economy. They used the tech bubble to hide the decimation of the outsourced production base. The market is just a game of smoke and mirrors. It doesn't really reflect the real economy; the resources, the workers and the produced goods. The whole thing is just moving money. Which is also why moving money effects it so much.

Fuck me, you spastics this isn’t about bloody graphics cards you play COD with, this is about industry grade, specialized GPUs that are optimised for AI. Nvidia is well ahead on this and hence the pump.

AI is like the next industrial revolution, yes there will be some zombie companies and a heap of shit that goes broke, but AI is going mainstream and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
Embrace it.
Make it what you want it to be instead of what you fear.

Personally I don't believe it is a bubble like the cryptocurrencies were. We have actual products and even research tools based on AI, so it isn't a hype like the cryptos and the cryptobros that wanted to become rich out of thin air. NVIDIA, Alphabet (Google), Microsoft and all these big companies are not hype-driven.

Has to be. There upcoming earnings go report should knock 30% off that unrealistic value.

You will too when they use the AI to fucking datamine your every thought, deed and action through your smart devices and control you through your combined social/economic credit score system.

They aren't developing AI to make the world a better place, but to finish their giant invisible prison; their digital gulag.

AI is just the next piece. They needed the internet, then they needed 5g/6g, then they need the AI bots. Then every person can have an AI shadow; a digital twin. They have only openly talked about it for the last eight years.

Tards like you always think the technology is for your benefit, it never is. They only gave the people the net, because they needed it as a backbone for their system. Yet NVIDIA can't make a workstation class graphics subsystem that fits in 1 slot, 16GB frame buffer and consumes less than 60 watts that renders a 4K hour long video in 20 minutes with Davinci Resolve. Blah!

Ya, not so much. Outside of consoles, high end desktop PCs are next in line to add high end video cards. What do you think the these AI generators are running on? I need at least a 3080 to run a local copy of stable diffusion at any useful speed. Several video editors are fully dependent on Nvidia Cuda technology. Those that know they need Nvidia just know without being marketed to.

My AMD card runs stable diffusion and other AI models just fine.

It also runs DaVinci resolve just fine.

You don't need Nvidia, you've been brainwashed to think you do.

I don't have anything against Nvidia. Have you compared running DaVinci between AMD and Nvidia? I tried DaVinci, it ran like ass, I read about how DaVinci works and how I could improve it's performance, and found it was designed around Cuda Cores. Is that brainwashing or is that RTFM and use the software as is was designed?

Seems that Stable Diffusion doco also prefers Cuda.

I have a 3060 and Im happy with it, plays all games on ultra. Im an old lady and I build my own pcs.
I like AMD as well, but went with Nvdia this time.
