Another dimension???!
Have you ever experienced a nightmare? Have you ever woken up in the middle of it, sweating and panting heavily only to realise with relief that is was a mere dream?? Am sure most of us have.

If it was just a dream, why were we sweating? Why did we find it so real? The answer is that when we are dreaming, we THINK it's real! There is no way for us to know that it is a dream while we are dreaming. The minute you realise it is a dream, you wake up from it. Isn't it?

Why bother about analysing dreams you may ask. But this can lead us to a rather big question. How are we so sure we are not dreaming now? How are we so sure that the life we are leading now is not another dream? Just think about it, when you are dreaming, the entire set up, all the people, the voices, the characters, everything was created by the mind. Why is it that we assume what we see now is reality? If the mind is so powerful to create a whole new world every night in our dreams, then why rule out the possibility of it creating this world around us?

Let me quote a small story that I heard from Nithyananda earlier:
There was once a Zen master who woke up crying one morning. His disciples rushed towards him and inquired what happened. The master said "I dreamt that I was a butterfly last night in my dream". The disciples looked at each other not able to comprehend why this could be a matter of concern. The master went on "Now the problem is, I do not know whether I am a Zen Master who dreamt that I was a butterfly or whether I am indeed a butterfly which is dreaming that it has become a Zen master"!

This story is just to question the same point: Are we sure we are not dreaming now? If we have never woken up, then how can we be sure we are not dreaming now? :)

This process of waking up is what Masters calls "Enlightenment". All sages and great Masters, for thousands of years have claimed that there is another whole dimension, which we are completely unaware of. How can we be aware if we are so fond of our 'dreams' and hold on to them as reality? These Masters have woken up and out of their compassion try to wake us up too. They are here to say 'Don't weep, don't worry it is all just a dream. Wake up and see for yourself'

Now, we want proof for everything. We are trained to reject anything that doesn't appeal to our intellect. As Nithyananda says: a seed asks for proof to the tree 'If I break open, what is the proof that I will become a tree?' For that the tree replies 'You break open and see for yourself'. The tree cannot happen unless the seed opens and the seed refuses to open until the tree happens! So how can the tree happen?

Re: Another dimension???!
I've often thought some of my dreams are interactions in other dimensions. I enjoy it immensly.

- One specific dream - I hugged a dark hair man good-bye. I felt this awesome love from him. As I walked away, he sadly waved, opened a door and entered. I then woke up feeling so sad. A deep mourning type of sadness.

It felt so real. It was real. I figure it was someone on the other side of the "veil" that I loved deeply.

Re: Another dimension???!
one part of that is not true....the 'realizing its a dream and waking up'...i often realize i'm dreaming in my dream, get frantic to try to wake up, sometimes cant and try to control it...i usually wake up on time when i need to without an alarm, or when woken up by loud noises..

the other dimension thing is intruiging..im not sure really..its too hard a subject. even tho we all do it, daily, its probably still one of the most mysterious subjects out there.

Re: Another dimension???!
dreams occur in the fourth dimension, but since we are mainly attached to the third we can't see the fourth very clearly (that's why dreams are blurred) or remember it consistently.

Well, that explains it, I've been waiting for her in the wrong dimension. I knew I should have taken a left when I passed time. Thanks everybody, hopefully now that I know where I went wrong, I'll be able to backtrack and find her...

I frequently have dreams like this. Bums me out for most of the morning....dreams are no more or less real than "reality". The sadness comes from the fact that we ARE separated.

In the book "The Holographic Universe" (Excellent book BTW, one researcher states that lucid dreams are actually visits to parallel universes. The reason we "forget" these experiences when we wake up is because the conscious minds blocks out such experiences in much the same way past lives are filtered out.

what a GREAT thought-provoking post Dovespirit.

i am pretty convinced that all of this 'thing' we call 'Life' is exactly that: 'A Dream'.

how does the nursery ryhme go? 'row your boat Gently 'down' the stream. Merrily ...Life is but a dream'.

if this IS a dream, and we DO want to wake up from it then 'HOW' do we do it?

well we know, from lucid dreaming experiences, that the only way to 'wake up' inside a dream is to simply procalaim: "THIS IS A DREAM". right?

if you take the 'Heisenburg principle' which states: "HOW one OBSERVES that which he/she is interacting with determines HOW the 'Observer' & "The Observed' interact with each other, and apply the possibbility that 'This IS A Dream' to that which we term: '''LIFE'''... WHAT actually manifests ??????????

i, personally, play with mantras ALOT.

within the past month i found myself playing with the mantra: "This Is A Dream" over and over in my mind. :-)))

'english essay' is the only subject in college i excelled at and still, to this date, i have trouble 'putting into words' the FEELINGS that manifest when i use the 'dream' mantra.
the best i can 'so far' describe it: it's like a RUSH of VIVID energy coming through my crown chakra and then filling my whole body as if the 'body' itself is preparing itself to 'FLOAT/FLY' as one would inside a dream if one became LUCiD inside of a 'dream'.
it feels a bit 'ungrounding' which is why i play' with this mantra as a kid playing with heavenly matches. grin.

i've been seeing 'triple, quadruple, cinqsetted' numbers in a row for a number of years.
it's only getting more intense.

i think seeing all of the 'numbers in a row' is a preset subconscious activation code for our DNA to fully AWAKEN to this 'enlightened/transcensent' state that the 'sigularity point' potentially represents.

>>>i wonder how the 'reality' called: LIFE will shift if enough of us OBSERVE it as an actual Dream??? ?? ?

would we collectively 'wake up'?
able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. grin.
who knows???
'Life iS but a dream' according to the nursery rhyme.
and in our dreams, when we we wake inside up of them we can fly like angels, eagles... or even doves. wink.

Great post topic Dovespirit...
as it seems everyhting is potentially just different layers of dimensions all intertwined with each other.

i have had those kind of dreams that seem 'more real' than Life.
i know where your coming from.

Re: Another dimension???!
One of the classes I took for my Psychology BA was "The Psychology of Sleep and Dreams". It was one of the most fascinating courses I've ever taken!

It seems that dreams offer somewhat of a "parallel universe" to help us resolve that day's emotional issues through metaphors. Through conjecture, we can surmise the meaning of these dreams on our own personal levels.

Perhaps dream are our initiation into the next dimension?
Once you've eliminated fear and darkness, there's only love and light!
