Ozarks here, we had loads of blooms but hardly no berries. I saw tons of bees this year so it shouldn’t be that. Found a plethora of gooseberry bushes and they had berries but not enough at one time to do anything with.

Anyone from Washington? I saw the blackberry bushes there once, they were incredible!

Anyway, I’m just curious. My walnut tree isn’t bearing this year either but maybe the don’t bear every year.

we have like 12 mullberry trees and they produced like 5% of the berries they normally do. last year i ate them off the trees every day for what felt like almost a month. this year it was just pathetic with how little they produced. something happened. glad to see this thread.

South of Seattle here.

My blackberry bushes are out of control this year. Lots of flowers but no berries yet. In thirty years of owning my property I've never had the bushes grow as fast as they have this year. If left alone they would be the size if my house. It's a nightmare!

Re: How are y’all’s blackberries this year?
about 8 years ago I bought 2 overpriced blackberry bushes from some lady on a farm.
Planted them along my back fence. Never got 1 berry because the birds would beat me to them. And they were sending out huge arbors of massive thorny branches. So I cut them down and threw the debris along the mile deep woods across from my house.
Was walking along there this spring and saw blackberries! Those things I threw away found themselves a new place to grow all by themselves! About 150 feet of edge there now has a decent patch of blackberries. Nature is pretty amazing sometimes. Ate a couple handfuls. The brush along there is dense enough that the birds didn't seem to be eating all of them.

I pick wild berries. Last year at this time the black raspberries and mulberries were abundant, I filled several containers.

This year, WHAT HAPPENED?!?! Very few berries!!!

Here in northern California we are about a month out from berries on the blackberry bushes. I suspect probably 6 weeks out given the slow start to summer here.

Oh goodness I didn’t think anyone was answering! I’m sorry I didn’t check back sooner. My mulberry tree appears to be ancient it’s so big around! Lots of leaves though but no berries! To top it all off, I was so happy to move to a place with walnut and mulberry AND a persimmon tree. Wouldn’t you know it… it’s male! No fruit for me this year! Chuckle just my luck.

You guys have the best blackberries and I spent 3 days looking at the red elderberry bushes that grow up there trying to figure out what they were. It was spring and I recognized the plant but it was a tiny bit different. Threw me for a loop.

Last year everything was volunteer but string beans and cucumber.

Squash and tomatoes were everywhere.

Planted with the new moon but was too early and it's taken forever for my cucumbers to take off...worked out better for my squash.

Have one volunteer pole bean...

Going to have to get a bowl...that baby is loaded. Wish they always grew like that.
