Re: Crazy amounts of ticks in northern ontario this year.
I have some opening for bugs in my 1st floor apartment. I once saw a tick crawling to my foot.. biting it. I felt the bite, and taking a huge amount of blood - in 10-20seconds. It was crazy. I wasn't expecting that. I killed it.

This happened in my apartment in Canada.

Go figure.

Is what happens when you put out wildfires. LET IT BURN

Yes for sure. Fires kill off tree beetles in the infested trees too.

omg scariest shit I've heard about ticks, good Lord!

Had them in Ozarks, on dog. Arkansas native pointed out a tiny, tiny tick on me once, like a grain of black pepper. Seed ticks. Videos on dealing with ticks are golden, kind of entertaining how people get them unclenched from their bodies without leaving poison behind.

Me, I'd go straight to a homemade drawing powder mix. Diatomaceous earth, colloidal, moringa powder (keep it on hand), golden seal liquid. Maybe tick bites won't let their poison be drawn out, but a brown recluse bite will be drawn out with ingredients like this. Proven. Scar looks like it could be age spot, not a gouge from tissue!

Can't believe Canada has ticks like this. Heart goes out. Does Canada have chiggers, too? Jeez, Louise.

Ticks generally live in southern areas and I've NEVER EVER seen ticks up north until this year.
And not just a few - hundreds!

I think they were using the fake wild fire smoke to air drop millions of ticks in northern communities to spread disease.

op,

how is the firefighting going up there?

You know what? I just got back to Southern Ontario from almost 2 weeks up in Northern Ontario near Sault Ste Marie and Elliot Lake.

NOT ONE shred of evidence of forest fires.

What's your game op? I know people up there and they have had smoke for months and months all the way back to early spring. Sudbury and North Bay.

The only place I've lived where ticks were ALWAYS a big problem was Minn. You had to check for ticks every time you went into the woods or even your lawns; except in MPLS.

There are ticks in Ontario, and MT, but I can't really remember ever seeing on in either place; not like Minn; and I don't recall EVER HAVING to check for ticks in N.Ont or MT.

They have always been there op; this year they could be much worse, or you just noticed them,

or like your claims about no fires in N Ontario, you are either full of it or lying.

There was a kink to a tiktok video posted here last week. A last showed a perfect circle of dark smoke in the epicenter if the toxic ring of smoke that bathed the US two weeks ago. It came from a power plant on Hudson's Bay. She also showed a unlabeled bunker down the road from the power plant.

It's true. I have been homesteading in the Midwest for a few years. This year have a lot of problems with minks, rats, and mites.

Sault Ste Marie and Elliot Lake are Northern Ontario? Hardly.

In the context of this discussion, when you say Northern Ontario, people outside Ontario assume Hudson Bay or thereabouts. There are ticks in Northern Michigan and in the U.P, so no real surprise there are ticks in Canada along the border of the providence.

Fires? They are claimed to be well north of the area OP visited and into the remote wildlife areas, which makes one wonder why the smoke has a plastic, chemical smell.
