I have stopped trying to help and save others. What I learned is no good deed goes un punished. I help people as far a issue that goes an inch deep but that is all. I am not in it for the long haul, unless there is some way I will profit from it. There is just too many people out their in the world that don't want to help themselves, but use you instead and then forget about it and discard what you did for them.

And, I only help people that ask specifically for my help. Including my family. They don't ask, they don't receive.

....The people you think are your fellow inmates are instead your jailers, the desire to save your jailers is insane, walk away from them. Only thing one can do if seeking virtue is to inspire others to have hope, don't forget last Superman movie said S stood for hope. Trying to save them puts you back in prison....

For example, how does one inspire hope in a jailer? As action tends to be more powerful than words alone, we inspire hope with our actions and this means there are benefits worth the risk in extending even to a jailer.

The best example will always be Christ. He showed what freedom truly is (truth), and where to find truth (he said "I am the truth, the life and the way"). He changed the world by extending blessings even to those jailing him, such as the priest's servant Melek, whose ear Simon Peter lopped with a sword. Another example is that Christ helped the quintessential jailer, a Roman soldier. Christ didn't just 'inspire hope' in the jailer, he physically healed his child. There are more examples, but hopefully this makes the point. It's about blessing those with the blessings God gives you, but also being wise in this and not squandering.

Mark 10:28-31, "Peter began to say, 'Look, we have left anything and have followed you.” Yeshua answered and said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no man who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or town for my sake and for my Gospel's sake, who will not receive each one an hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and towns, with persecutions, and in the world that is coming, life to a world beyond. But many are first who shall be last, and the last first.”

In a fallen world, if you try to preserve a comfortable life, you lose life, which is why to gain life for your posterity (as many of our ancestors learned who overcame tyranny), you lose your life for Christ's sake. See Matthew 16:25.

A bully must first be handled by force but afterwords maybe can be tempered by hope. He said that you can't save them and only possibility is to inspire them to save themselves. I've never changed a heart or mind that I'm aware in last 30 years.
