Crazy. It's 96 degrees in Rhodes right now feels like 100 and 38 percent humidity. There was massive fires in Florida about 20-25 years ago, both sides of my street were on fire when we left, luckily my father wired the generator to the well pump and soaked the house and lawn. Have pictures it's a perfect green property in the middle of a completely burned down neighborhood. Feel for them, it gets much more intense when it's only feet away.

Wildfires are common in Greece in summer. No rain for months, constant heat and everything is tinder dry.

Something as simple as a bottle or empty Coke can magnifies the sun and there's your fire. It spreads, well, like wildfire and if you've never experienced one, I can tell you it's scary af, even if you're used to dealing with them.

So the fire was burning for 5 days and only got helicopters when it was about to hit tourist areas.
