Hello Department of Defense: I have an idea to stop the hypersonic missiles. I want zero credit. | |

I want zero credit. Drones carry a 50 mile wide net into the sky snaring the projectile. Quoting: Snare drum spyder 79397570 Thousands of drones perform the same duty. Obviously you can adjust the numbers. Say 1 square mile net carried by 3 or 7 or 200 drones etc... And it doesn't have to stop the missile but like a spider web it is sticky and helps track the missile like when you paint your targets with lasers....etc. This would also be a good antisubmarine warfare technology to sabotage torpedo attacks and their missiles as well. Have a nice day. You are welcome. wow, as terrible ideas go, this is a winner. let's take a flying bomb and literally catch it in a net that will give us basically zero control where it ends up landing and exploding. that's your idea. you should be proud. |

You could seriously erect heavy chain netting around high value targets that can be raised and lowered as needed far enough away to ensure blast from impact would not harm the target. Say for protecting a Patriot Radar for instance. Only raise it when under attack. High value buildings and ammo stores could be protected this way. Chain netting would be sufficient strength to cause enough impact damage to any high speed missile. Seems like a great cheap method. Ships could use similar netting for preventing direct torpedo impacts. Last Edited by Xeven on 07/26/2023 07:23 PM I reserve the right to declare my comments and posts as satire. Wouldn’t barrage balloons be as effective, and if so why haven’t they been used since mid 20th century wars? |
