Beatles were super cool because they were a pop sensation, followed by introspective and unique music they could make, because they were "BIG", and could do whatever they wanted.

Nirvana was just a symbol...music isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the whole "grunge" movement produced so many amazing offbeat hits, its hard to quantify. IMPO..it was the last "true" music movement...everything after was autotune, and BS.

And to simply state it...Nirvana might have been the front man of the movement....but the body of work by countless other bands is what made 90's music so special.
