There are a number of Flights which are currently on the Tarmac at Diori Hamani International Airport in the Niger Capital City of Niamey; this includes 2 DHC-6-300 “Twin Otters” both going by (BANDIT1) which are linked to the U.S. Military and landed yesterday after taking off from Air Base 201 near Agadez in Northeastern Niger, a Dornier 228-203 with the Niger Air Force, a C-130 “Hercules” also with the Niger Air Force which landed this morning after taking off from the Capital of Burkina Faso, a C-130J “Hercules” with the Italian Air Force which is likely conducting an Evacuation Mission, and finally a Turkish Airlines Airbus A-330 from Istanbul which is also being used for Evacuations.

This is exactly what I was thinking as I was reading this thread. This area is strategically important to Russia and their quest to gain leverage against the west. If NATO is forcibly throwing out Russia's cronies, and getting in the way of their plans, this may spark a bigger conflict..

This looks to me like an Russian backed shenanigans to draw some NATO backing out of the Ukrainian theatre opening up multiple fronts in Africa spreading NATO forces super thin.

Niger and other countries in Africa are more aligned to the East rather then the West’s political leanings
