What will Happen to them once they are too old, just more space junk? I would hate it to have the technologies to go outer space as civillian only to have it be impossible due too much space junk and the risk of collision... |

I don't know the specific equation to figure it out, but, most satellites are int he thermosphere and exosphere. The earth has 197 million square miles of surface area. The thermosphere is 85 miles up. I would assume it is in the billions of square miles the further you you get up. |

Quoting: A Deplorable Neanderthal We did a special live streaming of the night sky over the Subaru Telescope at the peak days of the Perseid Meteor Shower. This was the view captured by the live by coincidence. They were fairly bright and impressive. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] That is a multi unit MASER weapons system. The reason they have several platforms it to provide the necessary power requirements for MASER orbital - terrestrial strikes. The units are in a "teaming" configuration. Think about batteries in a flashlight, where multiple batteries are "teamed" to produce sufficient energy for operation of the device. |
