It's not the same Dark Continent of the past. They are mine stripping and taking the resources, slaughtering Christians, sweeping out the tourist areas. It's not pretty. Animal extinction is a possibility too. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79664534 ![]() 08/30/2023 05:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's another country with CFA franc as coin, this means is another country explored and riped by the french, go Gabon it's time to end this existing french occupation, change coij to something that is not controlled by foreigners, french has ripping all these African countries resources it's a complete steal but now they are opening their eyes. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84917110 Blacks will always be under the thumb of the j. Like in Congo? Africans are naturally too base for mind sorcery to work. If they tried full blown mind sorcery like they do in the West, Africans would just call them witches and stone them to death or more horrific things. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4176946 ![]() 08/30/2023 06:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Must confess I had to Google Gabon to find out what and where it is. Another black domino falls? Anybody remember the DOMINO THEORY that got 60,000 American boys killed for absolutely nothing? Well, not for NOTHING. A handful of people got super rich. |

Whenever a coup happens in Africa, Western intelligence is usually involved in some way. Niger was unusual in that the "coup" seemed to happen because their military believed their leader was in bed with the west and betraying their country, but it's often the opposite - a leader who won't bow to the west often finds themselves out of power (such as in Gaddafi's case). China had been making inroads in Gabon (President Xi recently referred to the now deposed Ali Bongo as an "old friend") and Gabon was planning on joining BRICS. I wonder if that will change now. Lot of things happening in Africa lately as China and Russia on one side and NATO on the other struggle to assert their influence there. There's a lot of natural resources at stake too. Probably more instability in Africa on the horizon as WWIII keeps inching closer. |

It is simple, younger generation exposed to the internet, and all the information within it. Coupled with rhetoric, arguments/debates online, are bound to influence their decision making process. Coupled with, the government of Gabon is horrifically corrupt and loots the country as much as the French do. They know if there was no corruption, their quality of life would be far, far, far, higher. |

They believe so, unfortunately a corrupt leader is always replaced with another, the sad litany of Africa, and now globally imo. |

Always does in Africa. Gabon has been a key in helping Russia sell it's oil despite sanctions, for example: [link to www.intellinews.com (secure)] Also Gabon under Bongo been heavily involved in China's Belt and Road Initiative: [link to www.fmprc.gov.cn (secure)] That's just a few examples of why this military coup likely has foreign ties. If you really want to know how things work in Africa with regards to the west, read up on what really happened in Libya. It's a long read but worth it if you want to know what's really been going on (the rape of African resources by multinational corporations and world powers): [link to onlinelibrary.wiley.com (secure)] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 86193949 ![]() 08/30/2023 07:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Comment off an African forum.... gabon's former President Omar Bongo had 70 bank accounts, 39 apartments, 2 Ferraris, 6 Mercedes Benz cars, 3 Porsches and a Bugatti in France. He ruled for 42 years (from 1967 to 2009). His son, Ali Bongo has been President since 2009. He has just been overthrown in a coup. ALL EYES ON CAMEROUN |
