Do you know that people actually pull up to Walmart planning on exactly what they are going to steal? It’s hard to wrap your mind around how much stealing goes on there. Mind boggling.

So some poor girl or guy has to stand there asking for receipts. It’s just to have a presence. Just hand them your receipt and smile and make them have some sense of purpose to a purposeless job.

Sometimes these are handicapped people just trying to have a paycheck.

Being kind is free.

If it serves no purpose then they should do something else making them feel good about being useless is dumb

They ask me "May I take your receipt?" to which I reply "No."

Why would I let someone take my receipt if it's the proof that I bought what's in my cart?

What's more, they see me leaving the register and I've got bagged goods.

They're just accusing me of theft but they don't want to say it in such language. If the day ever comes when they refuse to let me leave I'll demand a manager and a specific accusation of what they think that I didn't pay for.

Edit: I was leaving a Walmart one time and there were three people being held up for receipts. I just kept going. The toady asked for my receipt and I said "Hell, no!" The woman being checked said "He's got the right idea!" and all the rest of them went on. Oddly enough, that particular store doesn't stop people for receipts anymore.

I'm white and on the unfortunate occasion I have to visit Walmart I go full speed with that cart towards the door and I'm not stopping. I put on an ugly scowl but say goodbye nicely if they greet me but I make it abundantly apparent I am not going to stop and show anyone anything. I'm getting the fuck out of there.

There would still be shoplifting but it would be a VERY small amount, and even then a lot of that is due to brown people andgypsiestravelers.
